Language of faith and practice of faith
Wednesday with Jesus
Dear Bretheren in Christ,
A tree is not known by the label hanging on its branches but by the fruit it bears. In the same way, Jesus reminds us that faith is more than beautiful words, emotional prayers, or public declarations. Heaven is not promised to those who merely speak about God, but to those who quietly obey Him in everyday life.
"Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter." — Matthew 7:21
Many people know the language of faith but struggle with the practice of faith. It is easy to say, "Lord, I trust You," but harder to forgive an enemy, help a needy person, or remain honest when dishonesty seems profitable. Jesus is looking for hearts that translate belief into action.
A house built on rock stands firm because its foundation is deep. Storms will come—sorrow, disappointment, temptation, and uncertainty. Only a life rooted in obedience to God's Word will remain unshaken. What we believe and what we do must walk together.
Lord Jesus, teach me to love You not only with my lips but with my life. Give me a willing heart to obey Your Father's will and to build my life upon the solid rock of Your Word. Amen.
Prayerful regards,
