Before sunset
Grace and peace to you in the Name of Lord Jesus Christ!
Dear Bretheren in Christ,
“And don’t sin by letting anger control you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” — Ephesians 4:26–27
Anger is a natural human emotion, but when it takes control, it becomes a dangerous weapon in the enemy’s hand. Jesus, our perfect example, showed righteous anger when necessary — such as when He drove out the money changers from the temple — yet He never allowed that anger to turn into sin.
Paul reminds us that anger, if not resolved quickly, opens a door for Satan to sow bitterness, division, and guilt. Every sunset becomes a divine reminder to check our hearts — have we forgiven? Have we released the hurt? Have we spoken peace instead of poison?
Reconciliation before nightfall is not just good manners — it’s spiritual hygiene. It closes the cracks where darkness tries to creep in.
Let Jesus teach us to surrender our wounded emotions before the day ends. The peace that follows forgiveness is the pillow of the righteous.
Lord Jesus, teach me to control my anger before it controls me. Help me forgive quickly, love deeply, and never let the sun set on bitterness. Guard my heart from giving any foothold to the enemy. Amen.
Prayerful regards,
