There are people who claim to be Christians have that kind of self-sufficient attitude. They think because have brains, education, experience, and technology, prayer isn’t necessary.

Henry Stanley (1841-1904), the famous African explorer, wrote, “on all my expeditions, prayer made me stronger, morally and mentally, than any of my nonpraying companions. It did not blind my eyes, or dull my mind, or close my ears; but on the contrary, it gave me confidence. It did more; it gave me joy and pride in my work, and lifted me hopefully over the 1,500 miles o f forest tracks, eager to face the day’s perils”

Jesus prayed and told us to pray always “and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1)
