Lend blessings generously
Wednesday with Jesus
Dear Bretheren in Christ,
“Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.”
— Psalms 112:5
In this quiet season of Lent, we pause to examine our hearts before God. Money can easily become a hidden master in human life. The desire to accumulate more can make a person harsh toward others, and the fear of losing wealth can fill the heart with anxiety.
Yet God shows us a better path.
Generosity is one of the spiritual disciplines that purifies the heart during Lent. When we give freely and deal honestly with others, we loosen the grip that money tries to hold over our lives. Generosity reminds us that our security does not come from what we possess, but from the faithful care of God.
A person who respects God learns to handle money with humility and justice. Instead of exploiting others for gain, such a person becomes a channel of blessing. Instead of fearing loss, he trusts that God will provide what is truly needed.
The weight of possession can burden the soul, but generosity brings freedom.
Lord Jesus, during this Lenten season, cleanse our hearts from greed and fear.
Teach us to trust God deeply and to live with generosity, justice, and compassion. Amen.
Prayerful regards,
