Do it NOW!

Hey dear young friends in Christ,

“Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it's in your power to help them… If you can help your neighbor now, don't say, ‘Come back tomorrow.’” — Proverbs 3:27–28 (NLT)

Have you ever said, “I’ll do it later,” when you could have helped someone right away? Sometimes it feels harmless—delaying a favor, postponing a promise, or ignoring a small need. But the Bible clearly teaches that delaying good is not neutral—it is wrong. When we hold back help, we quietly hurt others. A borrowed item not returned, a promise not kept, or help postponed can create inconvenience, disappointment, and even broken trust.

God has given each of us opportunities to do good every day. These moments may seem small—helping a friend with homework, encouraging someone who is down, or simply keeping your word. But in God’s eyes, these are powerful acts of love. Delayed goodness can become denied goodness.

Challenge
Don’t wait for a “better time” to do good—do it now. If you can help, help immediately. Be as quick to do good as you are to expect good from others. Let your life reflect a willing heart, ready hands, and a compassionate spirit. Remember, every opportunity to do good is a chance to reflect Christ.

Lord, give me a heart that is quick to do good without delay.
Help me to act with love and responsibility in every opportunity I receive. Amen.
Jesus loves you!
