Wednesday with Jesus Christ 
Dear bretheren in Christ,

'Obscene stories, foolish talk, and rude jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.'
— Ephesians 5:4 NLT

Obscenity and rude joking are so common that we begin to take them for granted. Paul cautions, however, that improper language should have no place in the Christian's conversation because it does not reflect God's gracious presence in us.

How can we praise God and remind others of his goodness when we are speaking harshly?

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of communication. Help us to be mindful of our words, that they may be filled with love and gratitude. May we turn away from any form of unwholesome talk and instead speak in ways that uplift and inspire those around us. Teach us to reflect Your light through our conversations, creating an atmosphere of grace and encouragement. 
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
