Be fair to the little ones of God
Wednesday with Jesus
Dear Bretheren in Christ,
“For I know the vast number of your sins and the depth of your rebellions. You oppress good people by taking bribes and deprive the poor of justice in the courts.”
Amos 5:12
It is easy to smile at the wealthy, honor influential people, and welcome those who may benefit us someday. But heaven carefully watches how we respond to the weak, the forgotten, and the needy. The poor cannot increase our status, reward our favors, or open doors for us. Therefore, our treatment of them reveals the real condition of our heart.
God repeatedly defended the poor because His own heart is full of mercy. Jesus touched lepers, ate with rejected people, and cared for beggars and widows. He gave without expecting anything in return. True Christianity is not only seen in worship songs and public prayers, but also in quiet acts of compassion.
Today, let us examine ourselves. Do we ignore the struggling while seeking the approval of the powerful? Or do we reflect the generous love of Christ?
Treat the poor, the lonely, and the needy the way you would want God to treat you—with dignity, patience, and mercy.
Lord Jesus, give me a compassionate heart that loves without selfish motives. Teach me to see Your face in the poor and to serve others with sincerity and grace. Amen.
Prayerful regards,
