Avoid self glory
Wednesday with Jesus
Dear Bretheren Christ,
"And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked with them, confirming the message by the signs that accompanied it." — Mark 16:20
The final verse of Mark's Gospel reveals a wonderful truth: the disciples went, but the Lord worked with them. Their ministry succeeded not because of their ability, but because the risen Christ was present with them.
Jesus completely changed the world's understanding of power. Though He possessed all authority, He chose the towel instead of the throne, the basin instead of the sword, and the cross instead of earthly glory. He served the weak, touched the broken, washed His disciples' feet, and gave His life for sinners. In God's kingdom, true greatness is found in humble service.
The same calling is ours today. Whether we serve as parents, spouses, pastors, teachers, or leaders, God has entrusted us with influence not for self-glory but to bless others. The Holy Spirit empowers us to reveal Christ through humility, compassion, and love.
Today, ask yourself: Does my strength lift others? Does my leadership reflect the servant heart of Jesus? As we faithfully obey His call, the Lord still works with us. And the greatest miracle is not only what He accomplishes through our hands, but what He transforms within our hearts.
Lord Jesus, make me a humble servant in Your hands. Let my words, actions, and leadership reflect Your love. Work through me today, and transform my heart to become more like Yours.
In Your Holy Name, Amen.
Prayerful regards,
